HCRW Thanksgiving Smoked Ham & Turkey Fundraiser

Make Thanksgiving a little easier this year while supporting the Houston County Republican Women!

We are now accepting orders for delicious smoked hams and turkeys prepared by Tin Pig BBQ. Orders may be placed online through our official fundraiser order form.

Thanksgiving Fundraiser Menu

Smoked Ham — $45 each
Approximate weight: 4–6 lbs.

Smoked Turkey — $60 each
Approximate weight: 10 lbs. or more

Join the VFW Riders Post 3073 in Dothan for a Toys for Tots Poker Run on Saturday, November 7th.

Registration begins at 9:00 AM, with kickstands up at 10:00 AM. Riders will return to VFW Post 3073 by 2:30 PM.

Entry is $20 per bike for the first rider and $10 for an additional rider, or participants may bring an unopened toy for Toys for Tots.

The event will also include prizes for Best Hand and Worst Hand, an auction, and hamburgers and hot dogs upon return.

Ride Stops: Southern Junction, Sportsman Lounge, and Village Inn.

Do you know an outstanding teacher who goes above and beyond to encourage citizenship, community involvement, patriotism, and an appreciation for American history?

The 2026–2027 Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award recognizes exceptional certified or licensed teachers in grades K–5, 6–8, and 9–12.

Entry Deadline: October 31, 2026

Teachers may be nominated by fellow educators, supervisors, family members, community members, or may submit a nomination themselves.

National winners in each grade-level category may receive professional development funding, an award for their school, commemorative recognition, and a trip to the VFW National Convention.

Entries are judged on Citizenship, Innovation, Resources, and Passion for Teaching.
